Art Supplies Tag Sale Hours: Saturday, May 23 9 am –4 pm and Sunday, May 24, 9 am – 1 pm
When you’re doing your spring cleaning this year, do you have any art supplies or items artists can use that you no longer need? Drop them off at the Sherman Senior Center on Friday, May 22, 1 – 4 pm. The Art Supplies Tag Sale will be Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday, May 23, 9 – 4, and Sunday, May 24, 9 – 1 pm. This is a great chance for young and aspiring artists to get supplies you are no longer using, and it is a fundraiser for the Sherman Artists Association (shermanartists.org).
We are looking for donations of art supplies in good condition that you are no longer using. Items include art supplies such as easels, stretched canvases, sketchbooks, paper such as colored or metallic or for photographs, artists’ portfolios, art books, a variety of paints (watercolor, acrylic, tempera, oil, or for fabric or porcelain), crayons, colored pencils, markers, drawing pencils, beads, and ribbons, frames, and framing supplies.
The Sherman Artist Association supports the Great Hollow Photographers Club. Do come see their annual fundraiser for the Great Hollow. The Great Hollow Juried Art Show 2026 is the biggest one ever. The opening is Friday, May 15, 6 – 8 pm, and then open on Saturday, May 16, and Sunday, May 17, from 10 – 4 pm. The show will be online on Shermanartists.org from May 15 to June 30, 2026.
Mark your calendar for ARTFEST 2026 on June 19 – 21. Submissions are in, and this year will have a wide range of exciting and talented artists. More information to come.
On July 11th, SAA is hosting a “Summer Evening for the Arts,” a Fundraiser for the Sherman Art Center at the White Silo Winery. There will be live music, food, drink, a live auction, raffle, and more. Information about sponsorships and tickets coming soon.
2026 is planned to be an exciting year for the Sherman Artists Association, and we hope artists in Sherman and the surrounding community will become members. As a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, we host monthly meetings with informative speakers and host various art events. This past month, the April Showcase @ Live 4 Art Gallery in Pawling was very successful. At the Sherman Community Expo 2026, we were there with a “Build a Floral Bug” for young aspiring artists. In addition to the events mentioned, there is more coming: August Light at the Kent Art Association, October Farm Day at Happy Acres, November Sherman Library Show, and December OPEN STUDIOS. Come join us at our meetings on the second Wednesday of every month and learn how you can become part of this art community. For more information: ShermanArtists.org
