Help Build a Home for the Visual Arts in Sherman
In five years, the Sherman Artists Association has grown from a few dozen local creators to more than 100 artists. Now we’re asking our neighbors to help us take the next step: a dedicated gallery and community arts space in Sherman.

A Letter from Our President
Dear Neighbor and Supporter,
The Sherman Artists Association has experienced a remarkable evolution. What began five years ago as a modest gathering of a few dozen local creators has blossomed into a thriving community of over 100 talented artists exhibiting artwork in rented spaces, sharing ideas at monthly meetings, creating events such as ARTFEST and Open Studios, and participating in local events such as Happy Acres Farm Day. Our visual art members come from Sherman and surrounding communities and strive to educate and enrich the cultural life of our community. We need your support to continue this growth and thus our first ever Annual Appeal.
In addition, our growing association has also reached a critical turning point. We do not have a home of our own and cannot offer the consistent, year-round programming that our community deserves. Our vision is to secure a dedicated gallery and community arts space in Sherman. This will not be just a building; it will be a dynamic cultural center for the visual arts where we can:
- Host regular, public exhibits showcasing the incredible talent of our neighbors.
- Offer creative classes and workshops for all ages, from children discovering their talents to adults looking to learn a new medium or improve existing skills.
- Provide a gathering space that enriches Sherman’s existing arts landscape, standing alongside our theater and music traditions to make our town a true destination for the arts.
To turn this vision of a home for the visual arts in Sherman into a reality, we are asking every member of our community—our dedicated year-round residents, our cherished summer neighbors, and our long-time patrons—to invest in Sherman’s cultural future. Thank you for your generosity, your love for Sherman, and your belief in the power of local art.
With gratitude,
Linda T. Hubbard
President, Sherman Artists Association
