Open Studios gives local artists the opportunity to welcome visitors into their own studios or exhibit at one of our community pop-up locations while showcasing and selling their original artwork.🏡 OPEN YOUR HOME STUDIO Invite the public into your Sherman-based studio and share your creative space.🖼️ JOIN A POP-UP LOCATION Exhibit at the Sherman Senior Center, Sherman JCC, or Charter Hall. Great Hollow Art Show Invitational 2026 The Sherman Library is pleased to announce a group show featuring artists from the Ninth Annual Great Hollow Juried Painting and Photography Show, May 2026. The winners, honorable mentions, and committee members will share their love of nature through their depictions of wildlife and the beauty of the seasons. The Great Hollow Art Show 2026 raised $1700 for the Great Hollow Nature Preserve. The artist reception will be held at the library on Friday August 28, 6– 8 pm. The exhibit will be on display at the Sherman Library from August 28 – October 14, 2026 both at the Library and on their website, www.ShermanLibrary.org.The featured artists, using their paintbrushes or cameras, have captured the beauty of the seasons, the rural landscape, the antics of bears, the beauty of a bird, the joy of gardens, and more. The Sherman Artists Association is hosting a show “August Light 2026” in the Kent Art Association Building, 21 S. Main St, Kent, Connecticut August 14 – Sept 6, 2026. Forty artists and over 120 paintings, photographs, mixed media, and fused glass have been accepted into this juried show. Awards for the best in each category will be announced at the opening reception on Friday, August 14, from 6 – 8 pm and the show is open from August 14 – Sept 6, 2026. Open hours are: Thursday – Saturday 1 – 5pm, Sunday 12 – 4pm.The artists have created a feast of landscapes, closeups and abstracts of life, whimsy and beauty. The judges are Elizabeth McDonald and Hacer (Gerardo Gomez-Martinez). Winners will be announced at the opening.The artists, both established and new, are from Dutchess County, New York, and Fairfield and Litchfield Counties in Connecticut. You may submit up to four (4) digital images of your artwork for the show—no later than midnight on Friday, July 19, 2026. Both 2D and 3D artwork may be submitted. All work must be personally created by the artist. Submission is free. Notification of acceptability and contracts will be sent on July 24, 2026. Gallery Sitting at least one shift is required.

The Sherman Artists Association (SAA) will host a “Summer Evening for the Arts” at the White Silo Farm and Winery on July 11, 2026, from 6:30 - 9 pm. This Fundraiser for the Sherman Art Center will feature live music, food, drink, and live and silent auctions. This is our first fundraiser with the goal of establishing a permanent home for the visual arts in Sherman.
