June Members Meeting

Deborah Rose is a lifelong writer, poet, and award-winning journalist and photographer with 30 years
of experience in community journalism. Today, she is the editor, writer, and photographer for the Town of
New Milford’s tourism and community website, NewMilfordNow. Before that, she worked for the
former New Milford Times and, in 1998, helped to launch the Greater New Milford Spectrum, where she
worked until the end of 2020. ​
Deborah is involved with several nonprofit organizations: the Ostomy Foundation, where she serves as
assistant director and vice president of public relations; Kent News, Inc., where she serves as vice
President of the board, which publishes The Kent Good Times Dispatch and the Foundation 4 Orphans,
where she is a volunteer.
The New Milford native was recently appointed as New Milford Poet Laureate for a second term.
