  • Mark your calendars for the 5th Annual Farm Day at Happy Acres Farm, Sherman, Conn. The Sherman Artists Association (SAA) is delighted to be participating again this year celebrating art, community and rural charm.  We will be offering farm-themed artworks depicting Happy Acres, farm life, countryside scenes, and similar genres.  Some art is for sale and some will be raffled to lucky winners.  Raffle tickets are $5 each or 10 for $40.  The raffle is a fundraiser for the Sherman Artists Association.  The event is at Happy Acres Farm, Saturday, October 4, 2025, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Rain date Oct 5) For more information visit:  shermanartists.org.
 
In addition to artwork by members of the Sherman Artist Association, there will be artwork from The Sherman School. Artist Reception – Friday August 29, 2025, 6 – 8pm.  The Sherman Library is pleased to announce a group show featuring artists from the Eighth Annual Great Hollow Juried Painting and Photography Show 2025.  The winners, honorable mentions, and committee members have been invited to participate and share their love of nature while celebrating the Great Hollow Nature Preserve through their depictions of wildlife and the beauty of the seasons.  The Great Hollow Art Show 2025 was held last May and raised $1600 for the Great Hollow Nature Preserve. The artist reception will be held at the library on Friday August 29, 6– 8pm.  The exhibit will be on display at the Sherman Library from August 29 – October 8, 2025 both at the Library and on their website, www.ShermanLibrary.org. 

The featured artists, using their paint brushes or cameras, have captured the beauty of the seasons, the rural landscape, the tenderness of mama bears, the song of a bird, the joy of gardens and more.  They remind us of the many faces of nature and how it offers us joy and beauty to nourish and replenish our souls.

Mark your calendars for the 5th Annual Farm Day at Happy Acres Farm, Sherman, Conn. The Sherman Artists Association (SAA) is delighted to be participating again this year celebrating art, community and rural charm.  We will be offering farm-themed artworks depicting Happy Acres, farm life, countryside scenes, and similar genres.  Some art is for sale and some will be raffled to lucky winners.  Raffle tickets are $5 each or 10 for $40.  The raffle is a fundraiser for the Sherman Artists Association.  The event is at Happy Acres Farm, Saturday, October 4, 2025, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Rain date Oct 5) For more information visit:  shermanartists.org.
 
In addition to artwork by members of the Sherman Artist Association, there will be artwork from The Sherman School.  SAA is partnering with the school to display artwork from kindergarten to 3rd grade. Come admire the nature and fall artwork by our talented budding artists. Artist Reception – Friday August 29, 2025, 6 – 8pm.  The Sherman Library is pleased to announce a group show featuring artists from the Eighth Annual Great Hollow Juried Painting and Photography Show 2025.  The winners, honorable mentions, and committee members have been invited to participate and share their love of nature while celebrating the Great Hollow Nature Preserve through their depictions of wildlife and the beauty of the seasons.  The Great Hollow Art Show 2025 was held last May and raised $1600 for the Great Hollow Nature Preserve. The artist reception will be held at the library on Friday August 29, 6– 8pm.  The exhibit will be on display at the Sherman Library from August 29 – October 8, 2025 both at the Library and on their website, www.ShermanLibrary.org. 

The featured artists, using their paint brushes or cameras, have captured the beauty of the seasons, the rural landscape, the tenderness of mama bears, the song of a bird, the joy of gardens and more.  They remind us of the many faces of nature and how it offers us joy and beauty to nourish and replenish our souls.

The Sherman Library show will showcase these selected painters and photographers:  Bethe Bogues, Christy Bonaiuto, John Charles, Phyllis Chadwick, John Clery, Carolyn Cohen, Karen Golden, Linda Hubbard, Jeff Ginsburg, Dave King, Ely Knowles, Susan Locke, Mary Jane Magoon, Christina Maschke, Elizabeth Medeiros, Suzi Mitchell, Doreen O’Connor, Masumi O’Donnell, Deborah Rose, Gary Stanford, Don Turner, and Stephanie Wozniak

The Great Hollow Art Show 2025 was held last May and raised $1600 for the Great Hollow Nature Preserve. The artist reception will be held at the library on Friday August 29, 6– 8pm. The featured artists, using their paint brushes or cameras, have captured the beauty of the seasons, the rural landscape, the tenderness of mama bears, the song of a bird, the joy of gardens and more. Forty artists and over 130 paintings, photographs, mixed media, fused glass and sculpture have been accepted into this juried show. Awards for the best in each category will be announced at the opening reception on Friday, August 8, from 6 – 8 pm and the show is open from August 8 – 30, 2025.
