The Sherman Artists Association is hosting a show “August Light 2025” in the Kent Art Association Building, 21 S. Main St, Kent, Connecticut August 8 – 30, 2025. Forty artists and over 130 paintings, photographs, mixed media, fused glass and sculpture have been accepted into this juried show. Awards for the best in each category will be announced at the opening reception on Friday, August 8, from 6 – 8 pm and the show is open from August 8 – 30, 2025. The artists have created a feast of landscapes, portraits and abstracts of life, whimsy and beauty. The judge is Kim Zarney, an illustrator, graphic designer, and advertising agency creative director with a Fine Arts degree in Painting and Printmaking. For the past fifteen years, he has pursued a fine arts career focusing on monochromatic works on paper. Inspired by elements of the natural world, Zarney’s work has been seen in over 70 national and regional juried art exhibitions and is included in numerous public and private collections.
The artists, both established and new, are from Dutchess County, New York, and Fairfield and Litchfield Counties in Connecticut. Participating artists include: Terry Ariano, Alibaba Awrang, Bethe Bogues, Donna Castelluccio, Greg Chadwick, Phyllis Chadwick, John Clery, Carolyn Cohen, Jeff Ginsburg, Karen Golden, Tony Gomez, Ted Hollander, Linda Hubbard, Bonnie Johnson, Aurora Kilai, Dave King, Ely Knowles, Blake Kotenbrink, Herb Kroeger, Charlene Leichter, Beth Levine, Kenny Litwack, Susan Locke, Mary Jane Magoon, Christina Maschke, Linda McMillan, Doreen O’Connor, Laura Paradiso, Linda Parsloe, Terry Pasquale, Kathy Peck, Deborah Rose, Liz Rosiello, Virginia Schaffer, Jaime Seymour, Lynn Slonaker, Barbara Soares, Jim Stasiak, Muriel Stockdale, and Todd Umbarger.
