Photography for me is a way to slow down and truly see the world . Wildlife forces you to stop and be still, to try blending into the environment. Silently willing the subject to come just a bit closer, hopefully to capture a natural wild moment. Street and candid portraiture allows me to see people, not just rushing by trying to avoid contact. To stop and introduce myself, to enjoy the moment when I ask for a portrait, the look of surprise, the realization that someone sees something in them worthy of a photograph, then to share that something with others.
